Hear what everyone is saying about Tony Hudson's first Workshop for the Active Farmers Network

We ran our first Financial Workshop with Tony Hudson for the Active Farmers Network 29th June in Temora!

Backtracking to the evolution of this service for the Active Farmers network we need to think about the ultimate aim of Active Farmers. We aim to help improve not only the physical health of farmers and rural communities, but ultimately their mental health. We therefore have a range of services that compliment group fitness and are proactive towards mental health. Financial stress is a key driver of poor mental health, therefore we are thrilled to be able to provide Financial Wellbeing workshops to our network.

Lets hear what some of our participants had to say about the workshop!

Stephanie Allen – Farmer, Forbes, NSW:

How have you found today’s workshop?

‘The workshop was very, very informative, I’ve been amazed that that content of information was actually sitting there and we just had to learn how to drill down to find it, so at the end of the day I have a better idea of our actual position and that will help us make improved decisions going forward’

What have been the most important things you have learned today?

‘That our position is better than I thought it was and it has made me realise that we need to make some decisions for our future direction, so that we can make the best of the assets that we have’

What would you say to others considering attending this workshop?

‘Absolutely, Tony has been a great facilitator, created a really good environment where everyone was happy to interact on the day and the fact that its partially funded by the RAA is a brilliant incentive and I think more people should be making use of it’

‘Excellent, we’ve had a great group of people and I think we’ve all come away with some fabulous ideas on how to build our businesses, particularly in the financial area

What have been the most important things you have learned today?

Going through the tax statement – it’s something every business has and something we didn’t really understand.  Now we’ve got some really good data from that tax statement and how we can go forward and hopefully make better progress in our business’

What would you say to others considering attending this workshop?

‘I would highly recommend it for anyone from a younger person to an older person.  You always need to know what’s going on in the business and this workshop definitely does that
