Spring into 2020 Program!
It is with great excitement that we can announce our second drought relief program, Spring into 2020! To kick off in February 2020, this program will enable communities to attend up to two Active Farmers classes each week free of charge for 4 weeks, and enjoy a complimentary breakfast or dinner. This program welcomes all members of the community; farmers, community residents, kids, elderly people and those of all levels of fitness and ability!
This program has been enabled by the support of a newly formed partnership with Bayer, our Ride for Resilience fundraising bike ride and the Toy Memorial Trust (Riverina communities). We are incredibly grateful to have such overwhelming support for the physical & mental health of our farming communities, currently experiencing one of the worst droughts on record.
“Bayer has worked with Australian farmers for over 90 years. We are proud to partner with Active Farmers to support a program that gives back through preventative health and wellbeing. Better health outcomes results from people understanding how to take preventative measures and to self-manage their own health, as well as engaging with their local community,” said Joerg Ellmanns, chairman and managing director of Bayer
It is well researched that keeping physically active and socially connected are two things that can have a positive impact on not only physical health, but also mental health. Active Farmers provides farming communities with group fitness classes at their doorstep and we encourage the relevant drought affected communities to make the most of our Spring into 2020 program, as it can be utilised a great coping mechanism tool during this tough time.
