RUN FOR RESILIENCE 2020

Sunday 11th October 2020 @ Mangoplah Football Ground

Cross country style walk/run events - 5km - 10km - 21km

A stunning Mangoplah day greeted 239 participants during the inaugural ‘Run For Resilience’ event on Sunday 11th October 2020. A mix of walkers and elite level participants were able to enjoy the sights of farmland around the unique course.

The inaugural ‘Run For Resilience’ was designed to provide a challenging, fun and family friendly event to look forward to in spring. In a world where it's hard to find the time and motivation to keep active, this event provided the inspiration required for the local and surrounding communities. This event also provided the community with an opportunity to get together, have some fun and enjoy the community connection even with Covid restrictions in place. Approximately 81 ‘virtual’ participants completed either 5km, 10km or 21km distances around Australia on the same weekend.

We were hoping to reach a grand total of 3,500 Km’s of accumulated distance between our Mangoplah walkers/runners and our virtual walkers/runners. It’s fair to say we smashed that goal! Check out the map below to see how much country we covered. All the way from Mangoplah NSW to our Active Farmers community of Katanning in WA, with a few stops in some of our other communities along the way!

Results are below, along with access to the photo gallery collated from Mangoplah and ‘virtual’ events around Australia.

A special thank you to the 35 volunteers who helped out on the day - we could not have done it without you! Thank you to all the photographers who supplied us with photos from around the course, and to Lochie from Wagga Drones for donating his time to supply aerial imagery/video on the day.

Well done to everyone from near and far for making this such a successful event! Money raised from this event will go toward continued support of the local Active Farmers communities around Mangoplah. Off the back of the success of this event future ‘Run’ events will be run in 2021 at various locations around Australia!
